ดร.รักษ์ วรกิจโภคาทร กรรมการผู้จัดการ ธนาคารเพื่อการส่งออกและนำเข้าแห่งประเทศไทย (EXIM BANK) เปิดเผยว่า เมื่อวันที่ 28 กันยายน 2566 บริษัท ฟิทช์ เรทติ้งส์ จำกัด ประกาศคงอันดับเครดิตภายในประเทศระยะยาวของ EXIM BANK ที่ ‘AAA(tha)’ แนวโน้มอันดับเครดิตมีเสถียรภาพ (Stable Outlook) ต่อเนื่องเป็นปีที่ 18 โดยอันดับเครดิตดังกล่าวเป็นอันดับเครดิตที่สูงที่สุด ซึ่งแสดงถึงโอกาสในการผิดนัดชำระหนี้ที่ต่ำที่สุดเมื่อเทียบกับธนาคารและบริษัทอื่นในประเทศ ท่ามกลางความผันผวนของเศรษฐกิจไทยและเศรษฐกิจโลก ทั้งจากการชะลอลงตัวของภาคการส่งออก และอัตราดอกเบี้ยที่อยู่ในระดับสูงทั่วโลก นอกจากนี้ ฟิทช์ เรทติ้งส์ ยังประกาศคงอันดับเครดิตสากลสกุลเงินต่างประเทศระยะยาวที่ ‘BBB+’ โดยมีแนวโน้มอันดับเครดิตมีเสถียรภาพ (Stable Outlook) เทียบเท่าอันดับเครดิตของประเทศไทย (Sovereign Credit Rating) ต่อเนื่องเป็นปีที่ 11 สะท้อนถึงบทบาทและภารกิจที่สำคัญของ EXIM BANK ในการเป็นสถาบันการเงินเฉพาะกิจของรัฐที่ผลักดันให้เกิดการค้าและการลงทุนที่สำคัญต่อการพัฒนาประเทศ ตอกย้ำจุดยืนการเป็น “ธนาคารเพื่อการพัฒนาแห่งประเทศไทย” ที่ดำเนินธุรกิจที่เติบโตอย่างยั่งยืนต่อไป
ฟิทช์ เรทติ้งส์ ระบุว่า EXIM BANK เป็นธนาคารเฉพาะกิจของรัฐที่มีความสำคัญเชิงกลยุทธ์ต่อการดำเนินนโยบายของภาครัฐในการส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนกิจกรรมการค้าและการลงทุนระหว่างประเทศ โดยเฉพาะสำหรับผู้ประกอบการกลุ่ม SMEs ซึ่งเป็นเศรษฐกิจฐานรากที่เข้าไม่ถึงบริการจากธนาคารพาณิชย์ นอกจากนี้ EXIM BANK ยังเป็นธนาคารเฉพาะกิจของรัฐเพียงแห่งเดียวที่ให้บริการผลิตภัณฑ์ประกันภัยที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการค้าและการลงทุนระหว่างประเทศ ดังนั้น จึงมีความเป็นไปได้ที่จะได้รับการสนับสนุนจากรัฐบาล เช่น การเพิ่มทุนเพิ่มเติมตามความจำเป็นและการค้ำประกันเงินกู้จากรัฐบาล เพื่อรองรับการเติบโต และเพิ่มความสามารถในการรองรับความเสี่ยงหากเกิดการชะลอตัวทางเศรษฐกิจ

EXIM Thailand Showcases Robust Financial Standing, Maintaining AAA(tha) National Long-term Credit Rating for 18 Consecutive Years, and BBB+ Long-Term International Credit Rating, on Par with Thailand’s Credit Rating, for 11 Consecutive Years
Dr. Rak Vorrakitpokatorn, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), announced that on September 28, 2023, Fitch Ratings Limited affirmed EXIM Thailand’s long-term national credit rating at ‘AAA(tha)’ with a stable outlook for the 18th consecutive year. This rating represents the highest level of creditworthiness, signifying the lowest default risk when compared to other banks and companies in the country. This achievement reflects EXIM Thailand’s financial stability amid the challenges posed by fluctuating Thai and global economies, including the slowdown in exports and heightened global interest rates.
Furthermore, Fitch Ratings reaffirmed EXIM Thailand’s long-term international credit rating at ‘BBB+’ with a stable outlook, matching Thailand’s sovereign credit rating, for the 11th consecutive year. This underscores the crucial role and missions of EXIM Thailand as a specialized financial institution (SFI) dedicated to promoting and supporting international trade and investment activities, especially for SMEs, which form the economic backbone and lack of access to commercial banking services. Additionally, EXIM Thailand is the sole SFI providing insurance products related to international trade and investment. Consequently, the government may provide EXIM Thailand with supports such as additional capital injection and government loan guarantees to facilitate growth and enhance resilience in the face of economic fluctuations.
